NEC personal computers has announced new additions to its LAVIE Tab series family – the NEC LAVIE Tab E TE508 and the NEC LAVIE Tab E TE510.
Both tablets are priced at the equivalent of $183 (22,800 Yen) and $270 (33,800 Yen) excluding tax respectively; they both run Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and are already selling in Japan. They both also come with ~$18 (2160 Yen) worth of electronic book coupon and 30 days membershimovies free.
The 8-inch NEC LAVIE Tab E TE508 has a 8.0-inch LED IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels (WXGA). It measures 8.9mm thin, weighs 354 grams, Dolby Atmos surround technology, stereo speaker and 3.5mm audio jack.
Under the hood, it is backed by a quad-core Mediatek MT8161 processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD card. There is a 5MP rear camera and a front facing 2MP camera.
Connectivity options on LAVIE Tab E TE508 includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and micro USB 2.0 port. The tablet is backed by a 4290mAh battery which is expected to provide up to 8 hours of browsing time. It is available in White colour option only.
The NEC LAVIE Tab E TE510 sports a 10.1-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixel (WUXGA). Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8165 clocked at 1.7GHz paired with 2GB of RAM an16GB space of internal storage which is expandable by a microSD card slot.
It measures 8.9mm thin and weighs 522 grams. Connectivity options includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. Handling photography on the LAVIE Tab E TE510 is a rear facing 8MP camera and there is a front facing 5MP camera for selfies.
The device also rocks Dolby Atmos surround sound technology, 3 audio speaker sound bar, and is backed by a 7000mAh battery which is expected to provide around 9 hours video playback and 12 hours of browsing time. The tablet is available in Navy Blue colour option only.
