Kyocera Qua Tab 01 Tablet launches exclusively on KDDI; costs $304

Japanese carrier, KDDI and Kyocera has announced a new good looking tablet – Kyocera Qua Tab 01 which should launch exclusively on the carrier in Japan. While the device would be available on contract for a cheaper price, it can be purchased out-rightly for a price equivalent to $304.

The Kyocera Qua Tab 01 is either the first ever tablet from the company or its first in the Japanese market. The company is popular for its rugged and tough looking devices; the Qua Tab 01 takes an exception with its good looks even though it is IPX5 and IPX7 certified for being Dust-resistant and waterproof. 

It sports a 8-inch WUXGA TFT LCD display and the display can be operated on even with wet hands. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB. 

Measuring 125×214×7.9mm in dimensions, the Kyocera Qua Tab 01 weighs around 298 grams and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. It supports KDDI’s high speed 4G LTE and WiMAX2+ data connections; and also Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac connectivity options. 

There is a a rear facing 5MP camera with CMOS sensor on-board and a front facing 2MP camera for selfies. The Kyocera Qua Tab 01 is backed by a 4000mAh battery and is available in Navy, Pink and White colour options.
