NUU Z8 with 32GB ROM and MediaTek MTK6752 headed to the US

NUU Mobile has announced the NUU Z8 – a new smartphone for the US market; the Z8 will actually use a processor from Mediatek, which isn’t very common in devices meant for that market. It comes with a price tag of $300 unlocked and can be purchased from Amazon, Best Buy, HSN, Target and from the company’s official website.

The NUU Z8 is compatible with 2, 4, 7, 17 LTE bands which is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile networks. Others includes Cricket Wireless, Metro PCs, Straight Talk, Net10 Wireless and Lycamobile. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MTK6752 64-bit processor clocked at 1.7GHz paired with Mali T760 MP2 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 64GB).

It sports a 5.5-inch IPS Gapless display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD) and a pixel density of 400ppi. The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, weighs 146 grams, measures 152.9 x 76.45 x 9.4mm in dimensions and is backed by a 2650mAh battery with Power Conversion Intelligent Motion (PCIM).

For photography, there is a rear facing 13MP AutoFocus camera with Sony lens and a front facing 8MP camera with wide-angle lens for selfies. The NUU Z8 supports Dual LTE SIM capability with Dual Standby.

Connectivity options on the device includes GPS, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, micro USB v2.0 and Bluetooth. Available colour options are Brushed Black and Brushed White; there would also be some Limited Edition colours too.

NUU is expected to also release a 16GB internal storage variant of the NUU Z8 which is expected to arrive by early august and would sell for $250 which is $500 less than the 32GB variants. Both device share the same specs and run Android Lollipop.
