Microsoft’s loss is Huawei’s gain and thanks to the popularity of its smartphones in China.

Samsung also slipped by about 7% but still managed to ship 89.0 million phones down from 95.3 million in the last quarter while Apple gained 35% by shipping 47.5 million phones up from 35.2 million from last quarter.

The report also shows that Xiaomi’s growth is now slowing down both locally and internally despite the company’s plans to move to the international scene and about $46 billion valuation. The company is facing intense pressure from the likes of Meizu, Huawei and others, which could make it lose its top 5 position.
