There has been talks of a sequel to the Blackberry Passport; first as the codename – Blackberry Oslo and later as the Blackberry Dallas. The device is expected to go official as the Blackberry Passport Silver Edition.
At the moment, the Blackberry Passport Silver Edition has the same specs as the original Blackberry Passport with no word on difference. In terms of the design, the device looks more like the Passport released for AT&T with rounded edges and not like the original square shaped Blackberry passport.
The device sports the same square faced 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 1440 pixels with an aspect ratio of 1:1 and pixel density of 453ppi. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, front and rear 13MP/2MP camera combination and backed by a 3450mAh battery. It is expected to run the latest Blackberry 10 OS version – BB 1 OS 10.3.2.
Crackberry got access to an image (circulated internally) posted by Blackberry10 FR which has the Blackberry Passport Silver Edition moniker on it but with a supposed launch/presentation date of 7.30.2015 (July 30th) which is past already.
The device has also been spotted on various respective certification agencies in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and the US (FCC). There is no word on availability, pricing or a near potential launch date.
