ARCHOS Diamond Tab goes official with Octa-core SoC, 3GB RAM and Android 5.1

Archos has announced the Archos Diamond Tab, a top notch tablet with beefy specs. The slate is expected to be showcased along with the Archos Diamond S, Archos 50 Cesium and Archos 50e Helium smartphones at the IFA 2015 in Berlin, Germany in a coupe of days.

The Archos Diamond Tab features a 7.9-inch (2048 x 1536 pixels) 2K resolution and an aspect ratio of 4:3 which is largely synonymous with Apple’s iPads. The slate is powered by a true octa-core Mediatek MT8752 processor clocked at 1.7GHz paired with Mali T760 MP2 GPU and 3GB RAM. 

There is 32GB space of internal storage and for additional storage there is a microSD card slot. The tablet uses a rear facing 5MP Autofocus camera, a front facing 2MP camera and connectivity options includes – GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4) with voice calling capability, Wi-Fi Direct and Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n. 

Measuring 202 x 134.7 x 7.8mm and weighing 360 grams, the Archos Diamond S is backed by a 4800mAh battery and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box. In terms of pricing and availability, it would go on sale in October for £179 ($275/€244) via the Archos online store.
