Not much details have been released on the upcoming Amazon 3D Smartphone but it is expected to Incorporate retina tracking technology “embedded in four front-facing cameras” to achieve a 3D, hologram-like effect. Amazon has been rumoured to be developing its own mobile device for years, finally it looks nearly ready for launch.

Other specifications released by KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo: Asides the 6 cameras, the Amazon 3D Smartphone will likely feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 4.7-inch display with a pixel density of between 300 and 320 ppi, a plastic body case, a 13-megapixel main camera supplied by Sony, secondary cameras supplied by Primax, and a battery size between the 2,000 – 2,400 mAh range. ‎

Earlier this month, Amazon unveiled Amazon Fire TV a streaming media player taking on established leaders like Apple TV and Roku. Amazon also launched its own app store back in 2011, and this is presumably where users will get OS for this upcoming phone. The smartphones market is currently dominated by Samsung & Apple and Lenovo and Huawei targeting the lower- income segment.
