Videocon Z55 Dash with 8MP camera and 3G costs $98

Videocon has announced the Videocon Z55 Dash – it’s first made in India smartphone or more like designed and assembled in India. The device would be available exclusively on Flipkart for Rs 6490 ($98) in Black + Gold and White + Chrome colour combinations.

Moving to the specs, the Videocon Z55 Dash features a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) with anti-fingerprint coating and Asahi Dragon Trail X glass protection. Running Android 4.4.2 Kitkat OS, the device is backed by a 2200mAh battery which should last a day of usage and has Dual SIM (3G + 2G) slots. 

Performance-wise, it is powered by a 32-bit octa-core Mediatek processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB space of internal storage. For additional storage, there is microSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB. There is a front facing 5MP FixedFocus camera for selfies and a rear facing 8MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash plus lens made from Corning Glass with Dual Anti Reflective coating. 

Connectivity options on the Videocon Z55 Dash includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS, micro USB and Bluetooth 4.0. Sensor. Sensor options on the device includes – Ambient Light and proximity sensor. 

The phone comes installed with V Safe and 90-days free subscription to the V-Secure anti-virus app; the former is usable in cases of emergencies to contacts loved ones and friends –
