HTC is expected to announce the HTC One A9 and probably the HTC Butterfly 3 at scheduled event for for September 29th in Kanagawa, Japan. The device is the successor/replacement to the HTC One M9 which has largely been a failure and has seen the company’s shares gone down to a record low.
Formerly known as the HTC Aero, the HTC One A9 specs has been spotted on GeekBench 3. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, powered by a 10-core MediaTek Helio X20 (two cortex A72 cores and eight cortex A53 cores) processor clocked at 1.96GHz is paired with 4GB of RAM.
The device has a single core score of 1835 and multi core score of 5884 which surpasses that of device using Samsung’s Exynos 7420 processor. Support for LTE Cat. 6 networks is also on-board, it mens the device will be able to support download speed 300Mbps and upload speeds up to 50Mbps.
Previous rumours suggests the device will have a 5.5-inch display with (2560 x 1440 pixels) QHD resolution and 2.5D Glass ontop. The main camera will have Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and also be able to capture RAW images. The front facing stereo speakers (Boom Sound) could be present too.
It is very logical of HTC to go with a Mediatek processor this time because of the over heating issue of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 on the HTC One M9. Although nothing is confirmed yet, the pricing is estimated to be in the range of CNY 3200 – 3850 ($500 – $604).
