YU or YU Televentures, a subsidiary of Micromax has officially announced the Yupix photo printer. The pocket-sized printer prints high quality images – (2.1 x 3.4 inch) digital photos at a resolution of 291dpi in 60 seconds from your smartphone. It is priced at Rs 6999 ($106) and the Yupix Printer cartridge is priced at Rs 649 ($10).
Measuring 75.9 x 152.6 x 24.13 mm in dimensions, the YU Yupix is smaller than a tablet but is compatible with Android smartphones and iPhones. It is waterproof, fingerprint proof, connects faster to devices due to the advantage of Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity, weighs 273 grams and is backed by a built-in 750mAh battery. The battery can be charged with any powerbank in cases when it needs charging.
The smart pocket photo printer has cartridge unit that includes the ink and 20 print sheets. Just like any printer, the YU Yupix uses a cartridge which doesn’t need a cleaning roll andd thanks to the Ink Ribbon and Photo Paper cartridge it is able to print 10 copies simultaneously.
To be able to edit and then print pictures, the Yupix app is required; the Android version is already on Google Play Store while the iOS version will be made available at a future date.
