Monkey King N1 debuts with 64-bit octa-core Marvell PXA1936 SoC, 4G LTE and Android 5.0

A new smartphone brand/maker has been spotted today, the Monkey King N1 is that device. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Marvell PXA1936 SoC and supports 4G LTE connectivity.

The Monkey King N1 is powered by the 64-bit Marvell PXA1936 announced last year, it uses Eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz. The chipset supports up to FHD display, 16MP cameras and integrated LTE Cat.4 Modem that supports GSM, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, FDD-LTE and TD-LTE networks.

The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, an aluminium alloy body frame, measures 7.49mm thin, a rear facing 13MP camera with flash and a front facing 8MP camera for selfies. There is 2GB of RAM onboard and 16GB space of internal storage space. 

For additional storage, the device has a microSD card slot which supports cards up to 128GB; It supports Dual SIM slots and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box. The Monkey King N1 is available in Bamboo, Black and Silver colour options but no word on pricing yet but a CNY 1000 price tag is tipped.

Nowadays, we get to see most smartphones powered by either Qualcomm and Mediatek processors but once in a while offerings using Intel, Nvidia, Exynos and Kirin comes up. It is however refreshing to see a Marvell processor in a proper device with reasonable specs.
