13.7-inch ZTE A2016 tablet spotted on GFXBench, could be the ZTE Axon Tablet

Every manufacturer seems to be working on large screen tablet offerings; Apple has already debuted the iPad Pro, Samsung and Sharp also have upcoming slate with up to 19-inch display in the works. Chinese OEM, ZTE has also joined that category with a 13.7-inch tablet in the works.

The 13.7-inch ZTE tablet, known with the codename – ZTE A2016 has been spotted on GFXBench and could be modelled the ZTE Axon line of devices (or are we looking at the ZTE Axon Tablet). The display is scratch resistant and has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD).

Under the hood is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 1.9GHz with Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage space out of which only 24GB is user available. It runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS, has a front facing 2MP camera and a rear facing 8MP camera.

For additional storage, the ZTE A2016 has a microSD card slot for storage expansion with support for up to 128GB card and onboard are: GPS/A-GPS, NFC, Compass, Accelerometer, Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0, 4G LTE connectivity and sensor options.

At the moment, there is no official confirmation that the ZTE A2016 would end up as a tablet not to talk of the ZTE Axon Tablet as we have seen benchmark websites list wrong screen sizes on some occasions. If it however ends up as a tablet, the pricing would be around the $500 mark or more.

Thanks for the tip.
