Less than two weeks ago, Airtel Uganda announced ‘Wingle’, a pocket sized 3G Wi-Fi internet dongle. The Airtel Wingle is now available in virtually all Airtel Uganda stores across the country for UGX 100,000 ($27 or N5,500 in Naira) and users get free 1GB of data valid for one month on activation.
Commenting on the launch, Airtel Uganda Marketing Director, Prasoon Lal said;
“The Airtel Wingle is a device fit for this Smartphone generation due to its portability, high signal strength and can be used anywhere any. We believe that our customers will enjoy using the Airtel Wingle and we shall continue introducing cutting-edge devices and products to enhance the way people communicate in Uganda.”
The Airtel Wingle is a plug and play device which means it doesn’t involve any tense setting up. It connects up to 10 users or devices at a time and doesn’t only connects to PCs or Laptops, it is also compatible with virtually any standard USB based source so it can be connected in a car, a USB Power port, a power bank or any USB adapter.
The device can create a Wi-Fi Hotspot with a 3G SIM card and can also be controlled via a Huawei Mobile Wi-Fi app for smartphones.
