Samsung debuts Galaxy Note5 in Kenya for Ksh 84,999

Samsung has partnered up with leading telecommunications outfit, Safaricom to launch the stylus-totting Samsung Galaxy Note5 in Kenya. The device is available at all Safaricom stores for a RRP of Ksh 84,999 (USD $815) for the next four weeks before it is available from other online and offline retail stores.

Commenting on the launch of the Galaxy Note5 in Kenya, Samsung East Africa COO and Vice President, Robert Ngeru said;

“…. Samsung’s newly redesigned Galaxy Note 5 is a powerful productivity tool that can be employed for multiple tasks. It’s advanced display technology and better S Pen functionality enhances the user’s content experience”. 

Echoing similar compliments, Safaricom Head of Retail and Distribution, James Muteti said;

“It is a great honor that Samsung has selected to have us be the first ones to stock the Samsung Note5 smartphone in the Kenyan market exclusively for four weeks. This is an illustration of the confidence that our partners have in our extensive distribution channels and our people who delight in offering excellent customer service at all times.”

As it is with all Galaxy Note phablets, the Samsung Galaxy Note5 comes with an improved S Pen which brings a host of writing capabilities as well as varieties of practical tools. The device sports a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, powered by an octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM, 16MP f/1.9 main camera with OIS and front facing 5MP f/1.9 Selfie camera.

Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the device is backed by a 3000mAh battery which supports fast charging on both wired and wireless charging. The device comes with NFC and MST which means the would be able to support Samsung Pay but that service is available in the US and South Korea for now.
