Stylus totting HP Envy Note 8 debuts with 8-inch display, Windows 10 and Bluetooth Keyboard

After announcing what is described as a surface pro lookalike – the HP Spectre x2, HP has announced a new productivity focused tablet with a smaller form factor and stylus pen – the HP Envy Note 8. The tablet and stylus alone is priced at $329 while the full package including the keyboard folio, tablet and stylus costs $429.

Just like the name suggests, the HP Envy Note 8 sports a 8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood lies an Intel Atom x5-Z8300 processor clocked up to 1.8GHz in Turbo mode with Intel HD graphics, 2GB RAM and 32GB native storage space. 

Running Windows 10 OS, the slate has a main 5MP camera with LED flash, a front facing 2MP camera for selfies and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. Connectivity options on the slate includes – micro SIM card slot, GPS, USB OTG, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 4G LTE.

The Stylus Pen on the HP Envy Note 8 come bundled with it regardless but an optional 10-inch HP ENVY Note Keyboard Folio which comes with a loop to hold the pen. The body of the keyboard is made from aluminium and it holds the tablet in place in either Potrait or Landscape mode.

According to HP, one of the highlights of the tablet is the HP Instant Note which the press release describes as, “

….. also includes HP Instant Note, an intuitive software experience to complement the stylus that comes with the tablet. By simply pressing the pen button, a note pops up to start writing. HP Instant Note captures content and embeds links to webpages eliminating extra copy and paste steps. The note is automatically saved in OneNote and can be accessed via HP Notes Hub, a timeline view to access content and events.”

The HP Envy Note 8 measures 7.7mm thin, weigh 362 grams, Audio is provided by B&O play and has a battery that provides up to 6.25 hours of battery life.
