Now owned by Apple, Beats (or Beats by Dre) has announced a new Bluetooth Wireless speaker – the Beats Pill+. The Pill+ is the first post-Apple acquisition product from beats and in terms of details sits between the Beats Pill and Beats Pill XL.
Commenting on the launch, Beats President, Luke Wood said,
“When you obsess about sound the way that we do at Beats, portable Bluetooth speakers can be very tricky. We spent countless days, weeks, months testing for that perfect combination of form and function – small enough to travel but still big enough to feel the emotion of the music. That’s what you get with Pill+.”
According to beats, the Beats Pill+ wireless speaker is now larger allowing for a ‘fuller and bigger sound’, the speaker buttons are now placed conveniently at the top and users get up to half-a-day (12 hours) of battery life on a single charge.
Talking about charging, a lightning cable is included for that and within 3 hours it charges full. Features available includes – (1) Amplify your Sound – to play simultaneously from two Pill+ speakers, (2) DJ the Playlist – to control music from two bluetooth sources and (3) Put it in Stereo – sync two Beats Pill+ together for dedicated left and right playback.
Along with the speaker, the Beats Pill+ app for iOS and Android was also announced. The app allows for easily controlling the speakers from a smartphone with a simple tap, toggle between different play modes, control playback and allow a friend to pair up his/her own Pill+ speaker to yours.
The new Beats Pill+ will arrive next month (November) for a price tag of $229.95 in the US exclusively from Apple.com and authorised Beats retailer.
