Slim and Sleek Cubot X16 debuts with FHD screen, 4G LTE and Android 5.1 Lollipop OS

Cubot has announced the slim and sleek looking Cubot X16; the 5-inch sized device runs Android Lollipop OS and supports 4G LTE connectivity and is available in Brown and White colour options. There is no word on pricing but several outlets suggests we are looking at a price tag around $160.

The Cubot X16 is covered with 2.5D curved glass both on the front and rear; it sports a 5-inch JDI AH-IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD), a pixel density of 441 ppi and 178-degree wide-viewing angle. The body frame is made from Zinc alloy and CNC crafted.

The device is protected with additional layer of 10 μm double faced super strengthened AF film for resistant to sharp objects. Under the hood, it is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Mediatek Mediatek MT6735A processor clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB native storage expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card.

Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and rocking Dual SIM slots, the Cubot X16 has a rear facing 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5-element lens, 1/2.7-inch CMOS sensor and Dual LED flash; and a front facing 8MP camera  with 88-degree wide viewing angle and f/2.4 aperture.

Connectivity options on the Cubot X16 includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4). The device also has HotKnot connectivity which functions the same way as NFC. Measuring 143.4 x 69.4 x 6.2 mm in dimensions and weighing 145 grams, the whole shebang is backed by a 2500mAh battery.
