OnePlus X goes official with alluring design and high-end specs

OnePlus has finally announced the OnePlus X; unlike the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 which focuses on the specs, this model is more focused on the design. The new 5-incher comes in two premium looking models – OnePlus X Onyx and OnePlus X Ceramics.

The OnePlus X Onyx is made entirely of glass and has a metal frame around the sides to hold things in place; and the limited edition OnePlus X Ceramics is made entirely of real Ceramics which the company says is scratch-resistant and has a hardness of 8.5H on the Mohs scale.

To keep the price, OnePlus has decided to stick with the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor to go along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. The device has Dual Hybrid SIM (Nano + Nano) slots which means the second SIM slot will double as a microSD card slot if required.

It sports a 5-inch (1080 x 1920 pixels) FHD Active Matrix OLED display with a pixel density of 441ppi. For photography, there is a front facing 8MP camera for selfies and a beefier rear facing 13MP Samsung ISOCELL camera on the back with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) with 0.2s focus time and records 1080p videos.

The device supports 4G LTE connectivity, weighs 138 grams in size, measures 140 x 69 x 6.9 mm in dimensions and runs OxygenOS (based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS). A 2525mAh battery is under the hood ticking to power the device for at least up to One day but there is still neither Wireless charging nor Quick charging.
