Micromax Canvas 5 goes official with FHD screen, 3GB RAM, 4G LTE and Android 5.1.1

Micromax has shaken up the Indian market with the launch of the company’s flagship Canvas 4 successor – the Micromax Canvas 5. The device comes with a good body design language, powerful hardware and an affordable price tag.

The Micromax Canvas 5 is pre-loaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS with promised update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS by next year and is backed by a 2900mAh battery which is expected to provide about 10 hours of talk time and 275 hours of standby time.

It sports a 5.2-inch IPS Lamination display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), a pixel density of 424ppi and 2.5D Arc glass along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood sits an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with Mali T720 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space.

The Micromax Canvas 5 has a 13-Megapixels camera with Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF) & LED flash, a front facing 5-Megapixels camera with Flash too and a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 64GB. Connectivity options onboard includes – Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 4G LTE/3G HSPA+.

Measuring 148 x 73.6 x 8.5 mm in dimensions and weighing 143 grams in size, the Canvas 5 has Dual SIM slots (4G + 2G) and comes with features such as Video Pop-Out, Smart Wake Gestures and the Content Adaptive Backlight Control (CABC) specifically for power management as well making images look brighter on display. 

In terms of pricing, the Micromax Canvas 5 will sell for a price tag of Rs 11,999 and is available in India starting today (November 4th) in Space Grey and Tan Brown colour options. Micromax is offering the double data offer to Airtel 4G customers for good 3 months and 7 day door step service policy.
