Konga has announced plans to exclusively launch the Alcatel OneTouch Pop Star in Nigeria on November 26th during the Yakata 2015 sales event (Black Friday). The 5-inch sized smartphone was announced at the IFA 2015 event in Berlin and will arrive in 6 different colour options.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the Alcatel OneTouch Pop Star sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space. The device is available in 3G and 4G LTE models but the 3G model (with a quad-core Mediatek MT6580 processor) is more likely.
In the camera segment, there is a front facing 5-megapixels camera for selfies as well as video chats; and a rear facing 8-megapixels camera with LED flash. For addition storage there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB and connectivity options onboard includes – 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, micro USB v2.0 port and Bluetooth.
The device measures 8.6mm thin, has Dual SIM slots and is backed by a 2000mAh battery which promises up to 13 days of standby time, up to 12 hours of talk time of usage depending on usage. The price of the Alcatel OneTouch Pop Star in Nigeria is expected to start around N15,900.
