Entry-Level Freetel Katana 01 with Windows 10 costs $104

Japanese company, Freetel will start receiving pre-orders for the Windows OS based Freetel Katana 01 starting November 25th in the home country and shipping is expected to start on November 30th. It costs JPY 12800 Japanese Yen (approx. USD 104) and should come in only Black colour for now.

Running Windows 10 Mobile OS, the Freetel Katana 01 packs a 4.5 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA) and a pixel density of 218ppi. Under the hood, it is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 MSM8909 processor clocked at 1.1GHz with Adreno 304 GPU with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space.

In the camera aspect, there is a rear facing 5-megapixemain camera with dual-LED flash and a front facing 2-megapixels camera for selfies and video chats. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB and connectivity options onboard includes – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS and 4G LTE.

The Freetel Katana 01 has Dual Micro SIM slots, measures 66.3 x 32.8 x 8.9mm in dimensions, weighs 132 grams and is backed by a 1700mAh battery. The company also has plans to launch the Freetel Katana 02 with a bit bump in specs by January 2016 for JPY 29800 ($243).

The Katana 02 sports a 5-inch 720p HD IPS display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 with 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, 8-megapixels main camera, 2-megapixels front camera, 4G LTE support and is backed by a 2600mAh battery. It also runs Windows 10 Mobile OS.
