Motorola could finally announce a Nexus device before its potential sale to Lenovo officially goes through. The fate of Google Nexus devices went unclear for a while with the Android Silver program tipped to takeover the line and LG also denying claims it was working on a Nexus device. Googler, David Burke however came around to calm fears, categorically stating Google is still interested in the Nexus Line. And during that period a 9-inch Nexus device codenamed Volantis or Flounder from HTC is already in the works.
According to a report on Android Central, Motorola is reportedly working with Google to create a Nexus device with codenamed ‘Shamu’. The device could be launched alongside the Android L OS and is expected to Launch in the US by November and are targeted at major US carriers. Motorola shamu is expected to feature a 5.9-inch display and fingerprint sensor. Other specifications are unclear at this point but with its screen size the device is likely a Nexus 6 device.
With no leaked image to support claims, the rumour lacks enough substance. But Android Central has been mostly accurate with their findings due to its credible history of doing so. We will update these details when more reliable sources give detailed information.
