Vivo has officially announced the flagship Vivo X6 and Vivo X6 Plus at a press conference in Beijing today. Both devices come with pack some high-end specs, an all-metal body build, split-screen function and reasonable battery capacities and dual-clip fast charging solution to double the charging speed.
Pricing and Availability
The Vivo X6 will go on sale starting December 7th for a price tag of CNY 2498 (USD 390) for the Dual 4G version and CNY 2598 (USD 406) for the Normal network version. The Vivo X6 Plus will go on sale starting December 21st and is priced higher at CNY 2998 (USD 468) for the Dual 4G version and CNY 3198 (USD 500) for the Normal network version.
Vivo X6
The Vivo X6 sports a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection; it measures 147.90 x 73.75 x 6.56mm in dimensions and weighs around 135 grams. It is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6752 64-bit processor clocked at 1.7GHz with Mali-T760 MP2 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space.
For photography, there is a front facing 8MP camera with wide angle lens for selfies and a rear facing 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture, Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF) and LED flash. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with FunTouch OS 2.5 ontop, the Vivo X6 has a Hybrid Dual SIM slot which see the other SIM slot double as the memory card and is backed by a 2400mAh battery with fast charging. Also located on the back, the 360-degree unlocking supported fingerprint sensor can be used as a timer and automatic shutter for selfies and unlocks the device in 0.4 second.
For enhanced audio performance, there is a Hi-Fi AKM4375 audio chip and connectivity options onboard includes – GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and 4G LTE.
Vivo X6 Plus
The Vivo X6 Plus has most of the same specs with the Vivo X6, however, also comes with some difference. It sports a 5.7-inch display with same resolution, measures158.4 x 80 x 6.85mm in dimensions, weighs 171 grams and is backed by a 3000 – 4000mAh battery.
Internal storage stands at 64GB and for enhanced audio audio performance, it integrates ES9028 DAC chip and a YAMAHA YSS-205X digital surround signal processing chip.
