Nokia XL 4G Android Smartphone announced for China

Microsoft has perhaps launched a surprise device inform of the Nokia XL 4G for the Chinese market. Most people would be wondering why it is a surprise device; Well Microsoft has announced it would discontinue the Nokia X (Nokia X, XL, X+, X2) line of android smartphones, Asha budget phones as well as other stringent changes in the company.

As expected some changes has been made to the specification of the Nokia XL 4G, the device has been packed with an updated 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8926 Snapdragon 400 processor and a 1GB of RAM instead of the 768MB RAM for the 3G version. With an updated processor and RAM, the device is capable of supporting China’s D-LTE and TD-SCDMA 4G networks.

Much of the specifications of the Nokia XL 4G correspond with the original variant with its 5-inch (800 x 480 pixels) IPS LCD display, 4GB of internal expandable storage, 5MP rear camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM Radio and 2000mAh battery. The dimensions remains 141.4 x 77.7 x 10.9mm, but the weight of the device has reduced to 158g from the initial 190g.

The Nokia XL 4G will also run on Nokia X Software 1.1 and not the Nokia X Software 2.0 which debuted on the Nokia X2.

Pricing and availability details of the device is unknown but its is not very certain we will see this device launched outside of the Chinese market.
