Rockchip has reportedly entered an agreement with Microsoft, becoming the second ever supplier apart from Qualcomm to supply mobile SoC for devices running mobile version of its OS. The agreement is still limited to tablets with the entirety of Windows Phones powered by a Qualcomm processor. ‎

The devices will have screen size range from 6 – 9 inches, either 16GB or 32GGB built-in storage, up to 4GB RAM and the Quad-core Rockchip RK3288W processor.

The SoC which is a collaboration between Intel and Rockchip, does not have an integrated mobile broadband, so they are basically Wi-Fi only but spokesman for the company does not rule out the option of 4G LTE modules being added. ‎
