Beidou, the company behind the Red Pepper brand has announced the Red Pepper Note 3 in China. The successor to the Red Pepper Note launched last year March (PS: No Red Pepper Note 2) brings mid-range specs at a very affordable price. It is available for a price tag of CNY 699 (US$ 106). Sales is scheduled to start on January 21st.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box, the Red Pepper Note 3 sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD TFT display with a pixel density of 401ppi. It measures 151.8 x 76.2 x 7.6 mm in dimensions, weighs 146 grams and is backed by a 2800mAh battery.
It relies on an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with ARM Mali-T720 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space. In the camera segment, the device has a front facing 5-megapixels camera for selfies and video chats; and a rear facing 13-megapixels camera with LED flash.
The Red Pepper Note 3 have the fingerprint ID (with 0.5s unlock time) below the main camera, Hybrid Dual SIM slots (with Dual 4G standby), a microSD card slot with expandable storage to 64GB and boots Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box. It supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks as well as Wi- Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro USB 2.0 and GPS.
