Coolpad Note 3 Lite vs Coolpad Note 3: Comparisons

Last month, Coolpad announced the Coolpad Note 3 Lite – the lite variant of the Coolpad Note 3 (called the Coolpad Dazen Note 3 in China). The 5-inch Note 3 Lite sells for a price tag of Rs. 6999 in India while the Note 3 sells for Rs 8999.‎

The Coolpad Note 3 Lite doesn’t deviate too much from the original Note 3 but there has some changes to bring down the price and differentiate both devices. We will be looking at the similarities and differences between both smartphones below:‎

Differences


The Coolpad Note 3 Lite sports a 5-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution, powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, ‎measures 140.8 x 70.4 x 8.9 mm in dimensions and is backed by 2500mAh battery. ‎

‎The phablet-sized Coolpad Note 3 on its path sports a 5.5-inch display still with HD screen resolution, powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor clocked 1.3GHz, measures 151 x 77 x 9.3 mm in dimensions and backed by a bigger 3000mAh battery.

Similarities


Both devices have 3GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage space, a microSD card slot, support 4G LTE connectivity, Dual SIM slots and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with the company’s Cool UI 6 ontop. Other connectivity options includes – USB OTG, Bluetooth Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and GPS.

For photography, there is a rear facing 13-megapixel camera with LED flash, 1080p video recording support and a front facing 5-megapixel camera for video chats and selfies. The fingerprint scanner sits below the main camera on the back. 

Verdict

The Coolpad Note 3 Lite and Note 3 are both similar in various aspects. The former has to make do with a slower processor (from octa-core to quad-core), a smaller battery (from 3000mAh to 2500mAh) and the screen size also took a cut down (from 5.5-inch to 5-inch).

The company didn’t make too much compromise with the device; it is nonetheless still powerful, more affordable and offers almost the same performance as the Coolpad Note 3.‎
