LeEco Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 now official

LeEco, formerly called LeTV, has announced three new devices – the LeEco Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 to succeed the LeTV One, One Pro and Max smartphones. All three devices pack IR and fingerprint sensor, Dual SIM slots, CDLA loseless audio with Dolby ATMOS and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with the company’s EUI 5.8 on top.

Starting with the LeEco Le 2, it sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD screen resolution, 80% NTSC color gamut and a brightness of 500cd/sq.m. On the inside, it is powered by a Mediatek Helio X20 processor clocked at 2.3GHz with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space.

For quality photos, the Le 2 has a rear facing 16MP camera with f/2.0 lens, dual-tone LED flash and Phase Detection Auto-Focus (PDAF). The front camera is a 8MP snapper with f/2.2 aperture and 76.5-degrees wide-angle lens. It supports 4G LTE connectivity, has Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C port, GPS, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and is backed by a 3000mAh battery.

The LeEco Le 2 Pro is a pro version of the Le 2 with a couple of improved specs; there is a version powered by the higher Mediatek Helio X25 processor which is the same on the Meizu Pro 6. Memory has been upped to 4GB RAM and main camera is now a 21MP Sony IMX230 sensor with 6-element lens.

The LeEco Le Max 2 on the other hand has a bigger display of the trio – a 5.7-inch QHD display and screen brightness of 400 nits. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.15GHz, packs the same camera setup as the Le 2 Pro and backed by a 3100mAh battery.

In terms of pricing, the LeEco Le 2 priced at CNY 1099 (US$ 169) while the LeEco Le 2 Pro with Helio X20 costs CNY 1399 (US$ 216) and the Le 2 Pro with Helio X25 costs CNY 1499 (US$ US$ 240. The LeEco Le Max 2 costs CNY 2099 (US$ 324), CNY 2299 (US$ 355) and CNY 2499 (US$ 386) for the 4/32GB, 4/64GB and 6/64GB RAM/Storage options respectively.

Extra: The Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 all have a USB Type-C connector for listening to audio instead of the 3.5mm headphone port. LeEco has included a USB Type-C earphone in the box and launched two USB Type-C digital earphones.  ‎

  1. All the specs are top notch and trust me the prices are damn affordable. Since the headphone port has been replaced with a USB Type-C connector, the downside is you cannot charge and listen to music at the same time, unless you are using a bluetooth headset. ‎
