AT&T has added a new budget 4G LTE GoPhone smartphone running Android Marshmallow OS from LG to its roster. The LG Phoenix 2 is priced affordably at $99.99 and is exclusively available from the carrier starting May 14th through select retailers and at all AT&T retail shops on June 10.
Sporting a 5-inch In-Cell Touch display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution, the LG Phoenix 2 GoPhone relies on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage space and a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB).
Photography is handled by a rear placed 8MP camera with LED flash and a front 5MP camera with Gesture Shot, Cheese shutter and Burst Shot shooting modes. Connectivity options includes 4G LTE/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Mobile Hotspot and HD Voice.
Turns out after a little digging the LG Phoenix 2 GoPhone is not entirely a new phone, it is the LG K8 for AT&T. It measures 144.52 x 71.37 x 8.63 mm in dimensions, weighs 140 grams in size and is backed by a removable 2125mAh battery which should last up to 12.8 days on standby, 15.9 hours of talk time.
