Archos 50D Oxygen Plus: 5-inch FHD display, 3GB RAM and Hotknot

Archos has announced a new affordable 4G LTE Octa-core mid-range smartphone – the Archos 50D Oxygen Plus in Italy and Europe. The €179.99 priced smartphone comes with some of the latest hardware and cool features in a stylish body build and yet doesn’t seem to sacrifice anything in terms of functionality.

Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box, the Archos 50D Oxygen Plus sports a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS Multi-Touch display with built-in black lamination technology for quality multimedia experience. It relies on an octa-core processor along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space aided by a microSD card slot.

In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 16MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash and a front facing 8MP selfie camera. The device has Dual SIM slots, supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks as well as standard connectivity options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. There is also the NFC-equivalent for Mediatek devices – Hotnot, onboard.

With IR sensor onboard, it can communicate with other IR enabled devices and serve the purpose of a remote control for home appliances and connected devices. ‎The battery capacity of the Archos 50D Oxygen Plus is not stated but there is an Automatic On/Off mode activated from General Settings, which ensures a well optimised battery life. Other key features includes – Smart Gesture and Turbo Downloads (aids the download of large files by switching between Wi-Fi and 4G LTE.
