Day by day, more rumours has been making rounds about the unannounced Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, but the device has quietly been listed on an authorized retail outlet for sale in Malaysia. According to the listing and sources, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 would feature a 6-inch (1280 × 720) HD TFT display with a pixel density of 245ppi. Under the hood is a Quad-Core processor clocked a 1.5GHZ with Mali 400GPU and 1.5GB of RAM. The listing points to a 8GB of internal storage whilst some sources claim it has a 16GB internal storage. Whatever storage is added, expect a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Other listed specs details of the Galaxy Mega 2 includes a 8MP rear camera with LED flash, Android 4.4 Kitkat OS out-of-the-box and a 2800mAh battery to keep the device ticking. The device is available in Black and White colour variants for a price tag of RM 1,299 (Malysian Ringgits) – that’s about $411 or N67,000 in Naira.

Backing up these claims, the device was spotted on AnTuTu Benchmark with similar specifications. The Galaxy Mega 2 with the model number SM-G750F – features a 6-inch 1280 x 720 pixels resolution display, powered by a Exynos processor with quad-core 1.5GHz CPU with Mali 400 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM.

The listing goes further to detail a 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 8MP rear camera, 4.7MP front camera. The device is expected to run on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS with TouchWiz UI ontop and powered by a 2800mAh battery. Some sources tip the Galaxy Mega 2 to come with a $450 price tag.

For now we don’t know if the listing has been an error on the retailers’ part or the device’s launching date is around the corner; moreso, benchmark results are sometimes doctored too. But going with the two claims both has a lot of correlating features.

We’ll just have to wait until the official announcement and device launch to verify these claims.
