BenQ T55: 5.5-inch HD display, 4G LTE and Blue Light Filter

More popular for its monitors, computer accessories and projectors; BenQ has announced a new Android Lollipop OS-powered LTE smartphone called the BenQ T55. The highlight, is the technology in place to reduce the effects of the Blue light emission on the viewer’s eye.

Based on the dated Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the BenQ T55 sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution, a pixel density of 294 ppi ‎and 2.5D curved top glass layer.‎

On the inside, the device relies on a 64-bit quad-core Mediatek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU and either 1GB of RAM & 8GB of built-in storage space and 2GB RAM/16GB storage options. Both choices are expandable via a microSD card slot (up to 32GB).‎

In the camera segment, there is a front facing 3MP camera for selfies and video chats; and a rear facing 13MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash, f/2.4 aperture and 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second. Camera features onboard includes – HDR, Panorama mode, Gesture Shot, Anti-Shake Photography and Speedy Burst.

Connectivity options onboard includes – 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS and Micro-USB 2.0 port. Arriving in Black and White colours, the BenQ T55 packs Dual Micro SIM slots, measures 154.5 x 75.5 x 8.95 mm in dimensions, weighs in at 164 grams and is backed by a 2900mAh Li-ion battery.
