Glo 4G LTE Service Live in 9 Nigerian Cities

Not one to shy away from competition, GLO Nigeria has announced the launch of its 4G LTE services barely a week after MTN announced theirs. The telco company joins the ranks of nTel and MTN, becoming the third in the country to offer such services. Etisalat is also very close to joining this list.
Glo 4G LTE Service Now Available in Nine Nigerian cities
The GLO 4G LTE network is currently available in major cities across the country – Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Jos, Warri, Eket, Benin City, Yola and Zaria. Roll out to other major cities in the country such as Abeokuta, Calabar, Kano, Kaduna and Ibadan will follow suit in the nearest future.

Presently championing the crusade for affordable 3G data plans in the country, GLO 4G LTE data plans are at the moment looking to be more affordable their their contemporaries. The lowest starts at N500 for 1.6GB (a duration of 1 week) to the highest at N18,000 for N90GB (a duration of 30 days).

Commenting on the launch, Head, Corporate Sales, Globacom, Kamaldeen Shonibare said;

“Our subscribers today already enjoy downloading music, video and movie contents while also streaming contents on their phones and other devices. But the new Glo 4G LTE network offers subscribers a significantly improved experience.The video and voice quality in video calls on different applications like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber etc is a lot clearer while the picture quality is crisper, and the transmission is faster.”

GLO is also offering new 4G LTE Router for N31,000 and 4G MiFi for N25,000. Both come with a free SIM and up to 60GB of shareable data valid for a month. To confirm service coverage and areas supported, dial *777# and follow the prompt or text ‘4G’ to 400 to confirm SIM and Phone compatibility.

While it is important to know that a 4G LTE enabled device is a prerequisite, existing subscribers can swap their old SIMs for the new 4G ones and interested subscribers can also buy and register one at a Gloworld, Glo Zone or Glo Dealers outlet.‎
