Asus Zenfone AR With 8GB RAM, Tango and Google’s Daydream Support

Along with the Zenfone 3 Zoom, ASUS also announced the first Tango and Google Daydream supported smartphone – the Asus Zenfone AR, at the ongoing CES 2017. The device is the also first 8GB RAM smartphone and has all the promises of augmented reality (AR).

Housed in a sleek looking body, the Asus Zenfone AR has a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with 79% screen-to-body ratio, a fingerprint scanner (rear placed), and 3300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. It is powerd by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and boots Android 7.0 (Nougat) with Zen UI 3.0 on top. There is a 6GB RAM model too.

Developed in closed association with Google, the Zenfone AR has a 23MP camera with Sony IMX 318 sensor alongside a motion tracking and depth sensing cameras, to replicate 3D tracking with depth sensing and . It also comes with a built-in 5 magnet speaker with support for High-Res Audio and DTS virtual surround sound.

At the moment, there are 35 AR apps available for the device but more are expected to join up this year. The ASUS Zenfone AR is expected to hit the market by Q2 2017, however there is no word on pricing and availability.
