Computex 2017: Asus Blue Cave Wireless Router Announced

Along with its new Windows 10 laptops and convertibles, ASUS also announced a new wireless router – the ASUS Blue Cave at the ongoing Computex 2017. The AC2600 dual-band smart WiFi router combines stylish good looks with superb performance, commercial-grade security and family friendly features.

The ASUS Blue Cave prides in its ability to handle fast file downloads and stream 4K UHD videos smoothly. It supports IFTTT-compatible devices and apps, and comes with TrendMicro-powered ‘free for life’ security solution – “AiProtection”, to protect the entire network against malware attacks.

The router has an eye pleasing large blue-coloured hole in the centre which separates the internal antennas (built into the roof) from the Intel-powered motherboard at the base. Without listing any number, it is said to connect more devices at the same time than most routers.

Similar to the Google WI-FI, users are able to monitor and control usage of the router from a mobile app. The app also churn out notifications such as when a new device joins the network or if the ASUS AiProtection detects any potential hack. As at press time, there is no word on pricing, however it is expected to sell for a suggested price less than $200.
