Dual-Screen YotaPhone 3 Set To Launch This Year From $350

BaoliYota Technology, a joint venture partnership between China Baoli Technologies Holdings Limited and Coolpad Group, ‘out of the blue’ announced the Dual-Screen YotaPhone 3 at the China-Russia Expo in Harbin last week. This 3rd-gen YotaPhone succeeds the YotaPhone 2 (released nearly four years ago) and will be launched in China and later Russia as early as Autumn 2017.

So far, the Russian-founded Yota Devices has released only two phones so far – the YotaPhone (2013) and the YotaPhone 2 (2014. Originally, the YotaPhone 3 was originally billed to launch by mid-2016 but the launch had to be pushed back due to financial and technical concerns.

The Yota3 retains the signature two screens design (front and rear) – colour (primary) and always-on e-ink display. It is expected to arrive in two storage variants- the 64GB model will sell for $350 (~ RUB 21,000) while the bigger 128GB will go for $400 (~ RUB 24,000).

According to Engadget, the device will feature a front 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD AMOLED display, rear 5.2-inch E-Ink display, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM, dual SIM slots, 13MP front facing camera, rear facing 12MP camera, USB Type-C port and 3,000mAh battery.

It also has a fingerprint sensor but lacks a 3.5 mm audio jack. On the eve of the sale of the YotaPhone 3, the company is expected to release the full specifications.
