In recent years, the Japanese market has witnessed the launch of washable smartphones such as the Kyocera Rafre and Digno L. Japanese multinational company, Fujitsu has joined the mix with the launch of the Fujitsu Arrows M04, which is heavily equipped with protection to withstand external elements.

The Fujitsu Arrows M04 is dust proof and waterproof (IP65/68) and can withstand falls from heights (about 1.5m). It conforms to the MIL-STD-810G standard and has he ability to withstand environmental factors such as shocks, temperature (high and low), solar radiation sandstorms and cryopreservation.

Part of the toughness is attributed to the metal frame around the perimeter. ‎The device sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB built-in expandable storage. On the inside, it relies on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and boots Android 7.1 Nougat OS.

Photography is handled by a rear 13.1MP camera alongside a front 5MP selfie camera. The Fujitsu Arrows M04 supports 4G LTE networks as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, NFC, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It depends on a ‎2,580mAh battery which should provide up to 780 hours of standby time and 660 minutes of talk time. Pricing has not been reported yet, however, it will go on sale on July 20th in Japan.
