Alcatel has announced the launch of Idol 5S, A30 Plus and A50 budget 4G LTE smartphones in the U.S.
The latest entrant in the Idol series family, the Alcatel Idol 5S packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, fingerprint sensor and boots Android 7.1 Nougat OS. Both the A30 Plus and A50 sports a HD screen resolution display, quad-core Mediatek processor, 2GB RAM and run Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
Like the Alcatel A5 LED, the Alcatel A50 has snap-on ‘SNAPBAK’ cases for added functionality. The Sound SNAPBAK adds a 2.5W speaker with a built-in kickstand on the rear while the LightUp SNAPBAK adds a LED ring at the side of the device for various notifications including calls and texts.
The Power SNAPBAK, on the other hand, doubles the battery capacity of the device. From the onset, the Idol 5S is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile but a software upgrade schedule for summer will add support for Sprint and Verizon. The A30 Plus and A50 also support AT&T and T-Mobile, however, they will receive the upgrade to add support for Verizon. See the full specs and pricing below.
