Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Launch Set For August 23rd

Samsung has officially teased the launch date of its upcoming flagship big-screen phablet – the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. This device, which is set to become the company’s first premium dual camera smartphone, will be unveiled at the next Galaxy UNPACKED event on the 23rd of August in New York City.

The Galaxy Note 8 is the follow up to last year’s ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 and as expected will come with cutting-edge specs and various improvements to existing features such as the ‘S Pen’. It is expected to sport a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio, 6GB of RAM and a 3,300mAh battery.

The device will have dual 12MP rear cameras and the screen-to-body ratio is reported to even more impressive than the 83-percent found on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. It will also be available in multiple internal storage options (64GB & 128GB) and choice of processor, either Exynos or Qualcomm, depending on the market.

The rest of the hardware is tipped to be identical to the existing Galaxy S8/S8+. Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy Note 8 will be available on sale in the US. in September, possibly starting at $1,100, and will be available by October in other markets.
