About a week after the launch of the Eluga A3 and Eluga A3 Pro in India, Panasonic has launched a new budget 4G VoLTE smartphone – the Panasonic Eluga I2 Active. It sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with Asahi Dragon Trail glass and is expected to arrive in Gold, Rose Gold, and Grey colours.

On the inside, the Panasonic Eluga I2 Active relies on a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 64-bit processor clocked at 1.25GHz with Mali-T720 GPU and boots Android 7.0 Nougat OS. It packs 16GB built-in expandable storage and is available in two memory variants: 1GB or 2GB RAM.

Photography is handled by a rear facing 8MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies. The device supports 4G LTE (B3/ B5/ B40) networks as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano/microSD), micro USB 2.0 and GPS, and depends on a 2,200mAh battery.

Measuring 143 x 71.2 x 7.95mm and weighing in at 133 grams, the Panasonic Eluga I2 Active skips on a fingerprint sensor and the ARBO virtual assistant. The 1GB RAM model costs Rs. 7,190 (US$ 112) while the 2GB RAM sells for Rs. 7,990 (US$ 125). Gold, Rose Gold and Grey are the available colour options.
