Official: Nokia 8 with 5.3-inch QHD display, SD835 SoC, 13MP Dual Rear Cameras

HMD Global has announced the launch of its first dual camera smartphone – the Nokia 8. The high-end Android device joins other Snapdragon 835 backed devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S8, HTC U11, OnePlus 5 and Nubia Z17; and follows the trendy dual camera setup found on devices like the LG Q8, Huawei P10 and Honor 9.

Housed in a polished aluminium body, the Nokia 8 has not one but two rear cameras – 13MP (colour) + 13MP (monochrome) and has teamed up with Carl Zeiss to deliver the optics. HMD has introduced a new feature called ‘Bothie’ which uses the Dual Sight technology to allow the user access both front and rear facing cameras at the same time.

They can also live stream contents directly on Facebook and Youtube. Another highlight is the presence of the Spatial audio technology from ‎Nokia’s high-end OZO 360 camera, which allows the smartphone record high quality audio as well as channel sounds in all directions. It runs Android 7.1 Nougat OS and will recieve timely updates staring with the Android O.

Pricing and Availability

The Nokia 8 is priced at €599 (£546 or $703) and will go on sale globally in early September. It is expected to arrive in Polished Blue, Polished Copper, Steel and Tempered Blue colours.
