Apple’s audio products subsidiary, Beats Electronics (or Beats by Dr. Dre) has released its latest top-tier Studio headphones, the Beats Studio 3. The new model retains the same outward appearance as previous models but promises better internals, longer battery life, and more advanced noise cancelling.
Priced at $349.95, the Beats Studio 3 features Apple’s W1 chip, the same used in the Airpods, for easy pairing with iPad, Mac, iPhone and Apple Watch. Another highlighted feature is the Pure Adaptive Noise Cancelling (Pure ANC), which constantly listens to the surroundings and adjust the strength of the noise cancellation to better match that using algorithms.
When paired with any W1-supported Apple device, it lasts up to 40 hours of usage in audio-only ‘low power’ mode and up to 22 hours of usage with noise cancelling turned on. The battery life figure with Pure ANC turned on (22 hours) is bit longer than that of the Bose’s QC35 and Sony’s MDR-1000X headphones.
The Beats Studio 3 charges via a micro USB connector instead of Apple’s Lighting and about 10 minutes of charge delivers roughly 3 hours of listening time. It also features Bluetooth for a more reliable and longer range connectivity. Beats will offer the Studio 3 in six colour options: Blue, Matte Black, Procelain Rose, Red, Shadow Grey and White.
