For quite a long time, there have been talks about the launch of the game-changing foldable smartphone by quite a number of industry heavyweights which could arrive as soon as next year. According to multiple sources, ZTE is currently leading the race to deliver the first true foldable smartphone.
With the ZTE Axon Multy (or Axon M according to press invites sent out for a launch event on October 17), ZTE is set to launch the world’s first dual-screen foldable smartphone.
Unlike the Samsung Galaxy X, which likely has a single flexible display, it has two separate display panels with 1080p Full HD resolution each which folds-out into a larger 6.8-inch display with 2160 x 1920 pixels resolution and hopefully minimal bezels.
The device is expected to pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (or 821) processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage, 20MP camera and a 3,120mAh battery. While the rest of the specs is not confirmed yet, it is expected to go on sale for around $650 and will likely be exclusive to AT&T in the US.
ZTE’s Nubia sub-brand also has a launch event scheduled for the same date (October 17) which could see the company launch the nubia NX595J or nubia NX589J smartphones.
