ASUS has debuted a new mid-tier Verizon-exclusive ZenFone smartphone in the US. The ASUS ZenFone V is immediately available (online or in retail stores) priced outright at $384 sans contract or on Verizon device payment for $16 per month for 24 months (0% APR).
Pre-installed with Android 7.0 Nougat OS with Zen UI 3.0, the ASUS ZenFone V sports a 5.2-inch FHD AMOLED display and a premium looking 2.5D Gorilla Glass covering on the front and back. It features a rear placed 23MP camera with Sony IMX 318 image sensor, laser AutoFocus, dual-tone LED flash, 3-axis EIS and 4-axis OIS.
The front camera is a 8MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture and 88-degree wide angle lens. On the inside, the device is powered by last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space (expandable up to 256GB via microSD).
The ASUS ZenFone V is also equipped with a USB Type-C port, support for Hi-Res Audio and DTS Headphone:X, NXP Smart AMP, fingerprint sensor and 3.5mm headphone jack. It runs on Verizon’s 4G LTE network and depends on a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support (up to 18W via USB Power delivery).
