Following the recent launch of the M7 and M7 Power in China, Gionee looks set to introduce a new high-end M7 series smartphone with 18:9 fullscreen display and dual rear cameras. The new entrant, called the Gionee M7 Plus, has been certified by the relevant Chinese authority, TENAA.
According to insider sources, the Gionee M7 Plus is expected to have a large 6.43-inch AMOLED display with 2160 x 1080 pixels (Full HD+) resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass. It sports a metal body frame, rear fingerprint sensor and what looks like original leather back cover.
On the inside, the smartphone comes pre-loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with Amigo OS 5.0 and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 mobile platform paired with 6GB of RAM. It will available in two storage options: 64GB and 128GB, which are both expandable via a microSD.
The dual rear camera setup includes a primary 16MP camera with dual-tone LED flash paired alongside a secondary 8MP camera for capturing the field of depth. The Gionee M7 Plus also sports a front facing 8MP camera for selfies and depends on a 5,000mAh battery.
It is expected to go official alongside other devices with fullscreen display from the Gionee Winter 2017 lineup in China on November 26.
