As expected, Xiaomi has officially announced the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones in China. The duo run MIUI 9 ( based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS) and feaature a rear facing 12MP camera with PDAF alongside a 5MP selfie camera with front LED flash, rear fingerprint sensor and Hybrid Dual SIM slots.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 features a 5.7-inch 18:9 HD+ display and packs a 3,300mAh battery while the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus sports a bigger 5.99-inch 18:9 Full HD+ display and depends on a 4,000mAh battery. The former is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor while the latter has the Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor.

Pricing and Availability
