Apple and Google tops Interbrand’s 15th Annual Best Global Brands Report

According to the latest Interbrand’s 15th Annual Best Global Brands Report – Apple is the most valuable brand in the world. The Cupertino Giant sits at No. one position with a value worth of $118.9 Billion and Google follows closely behind at No. 2 valued at $107.43 Billion.

According to the report, it would be the first time in the history of Best Global Brands – two global brands have each earned a brand value that exceeds USD $100 billion. The iPad and iPhone maker’s brand value increased by 21 percent and the search giant’s brand value increased by a further 15 percent.

Out of the top 100 companies listed, around 13 are tech based and five of them sit in the top 10 – IBM sits 4th, Microsoft 5th, and Samsung comes 7th. And for the second year in a row, Apple and Google sits ahead of Coca-Cola which has been No. one for 13 straight consecutive year. Facebook’s brand rises by 86 percent taking it to 29th spot, Nokia’s brand dropped by 44 percent taking it down to 98th position and Nintendo’s brand dropped to the 100th position.

Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei makes the top 100 List sitting at 94th position; the company is said to be the first chinese brand to make the list. Huawei is currently the third largest smartphone maker in the world behind Apple and Samsung.
