Elephone U Pro Debuts With 5.99-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 660 SoC

Elephone has unveiled a new mid-range smartphone with an octa-core mobile platform by Qualcomm. The Elephone U Pro boots stock Android 8.0 Oreo OS and relies on the Snapdragon 660 octa-core CPU clocked at 2.2GHz paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB built-in expandable storage space.

The Elephone U Pro has a 5.99-inch Curved AMOLED display with 3D glass, 2160 x 1080 pixels (Full HD+) screen resolution, 87% screen-to-body ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 18:9 aspect ratio. There are two methods to unlock the smartphone: face unlock (available via a future OTA update) and rear fingerprint sensor.

For photography, the device ‎is equipped with dual rear 13MP cameras (RGB + Monochrome) with 2.2μm pixel size, PDAF and ArcSoft algorithm. Both cameras combine to deliver SLR-level bokeh effect and natural blur. The device has a front-facing ‎8MP camera for selfies.

‎The Elephone U Pro charges via USB Type-C port and power is delivered ‎by a large 3620mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 (charges up to 100% in 1 hour 30 minutes). There is no word yet on pricing and availability.
