Rumour: Apple iPhone SE 2 Set To Launch at WWDC 2018

‘Word on the Street’ is that Apple is planning to launch the successor to the iPhone SE, at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2018 in June. Dubbed the Apple iPhone SE 2, the lower-end iPhone will have the same body design as the original iPhone SE, with an all metal body frame and home button.

According to the Chinese news website QQ.com, the Apple iPhone SE 2 will have a slightly bigger 4.2-inch display (the iPhone SE has a 4-inch display) and slightly higher screen resolution. The audio jack should still be on-board and the bezels could be trimmed down to ensure continued one-handed usage.

Under the hood, the report suggests the device will be powered by the A10 Fusion processor, which is the brain behind the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones, and paired with 2GB of RAM and either 32GB or 128GB built-in storage space.

While we cannot validate the authenticity of the source, chances of a WWDC launch for the iPhone SE 2 looks unlikely as Apple last launched a smartphone (iPhone 4) at the software focused event in 2010. There are also talks of Apple scheduling a seperate media launch event for the device in March.
