At the just concluded MWC, TCL announced new Alcatel smartphones under its all-new and evolved portfolio, the Alcatel 5 Series, 3 Series, and 1 series. Each will deliver immersive 18:9 FullView display experience, enhanced camera options and Alcatel experiences such as Face Key, a facial recognition technology.
Alcatel 5 Series
Backed by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging, the Alcatel 5 sports a bezel-less 5.7-inch FullView 18:9 display, premium looking brushed metallic design and rear fingerpint sensor. It is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6750 processor and arrives in 2GB + 16GB and 3GB + 32GB RAM and storage options.
Photography is handled by a single 12MP f/2.2 rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, alongside dual front facing cameras – a primary 13MP f/2.0 sensor with 120-degree wide-angle lens plus a secondary 5MP sensor with LED flash. The camera switches from portrait to super wide-angle mode when it detects more than 2 faces in the shot.
The Alcatel 5 comes various camera features such as Social Mode, Social Square, Instant collage and Photo booth. It is now available in Select markets for a price tag of EUR 229.99 and arrives in Metallic Black and Metallic Gold colour options.
Alcatel 3 Series
The new Alcatel 3 Series includes the Alcatel 3, Alcatel 3V and Alcatel 3X. The trio feature 18:9 FullView displays, sleek 2.5D contoured edge glass, and curved backs, SmartCam, Face Key and front 5MP selfie camera wit LED flash.
- The Alcatel 3 has a 5.5-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ IPS display with glossy finishing, rear facing 13MP camera and a 3,000mAh battery. It is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6739 processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage and arrives in Spectrum Black, Blue and Gold colours for EUR 149.99.
- The Alcatel 3X sports a 5.7-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ display and dual rear cameras – 13MP + 5MP (120-degree super wide-angle lens) sensors with dual-tone flash. It has the same storage options as that of the Alcatel 5, boots Android Nougat OS and relies on a MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor. The 3x is priced at EUR 179.99 and will arrive in Metallic Black, Blue and Gold colours.
- The Alcatel 3V offers a larger 6-inch 2K (2160 x 1080) IPS display, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, dual rear cameras – 12MP main camera plus a 2MP secondary depth camera with LED flash. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8735A processor and boots Android Oreo OS out-of-the-box. The 3V is priced at EUR 189.99 and will arrive in Spectrum Black, Blue and Gold colours.
Alcatel 1 Series
The Alcatel 1X is the brand’s first smartphone powered by Android Oreo (Go edition). It sports a 5.3-inch 18:9 display, rear facing 13MP camera, 1GB RAM and comes pre-loded with streamlined Google apps such as Google Go, Files Go, Google Maps Go, YouTube Go, Gmail Go and more.
The 1X will go on sale in April for EUR 99.99 and arrive in Black, Blue and Gold colours with satiny finish. A 3G Varaint of the series – the Alcatel 1C with metal body build will also be avialable for EUR 89.99 and arrive in the same colour options.
